Step 1: Polish & Paint Correction
Before my McLaren could be coated with Ceramic Pro, the entire car needed to be washed and prepped. The whole point of applying Ceramic Pro to your vehicle is to lock in and seal the beautiful flawless shine and gloss that can be achieved by polishing the paint to perfection. There is no point in coating your vehicle with Ceramic Pro to protect a paint job with flaws and imperfections, no matter how small they may be.
Believe it or not NO car comes with a perfect paint job from the factory even if you are buying Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s. All cars have slight imperfections in their paint and mine was no different especially after I have put 8000km on it in 5 months! I really have been enjoying my McLaren on a daily basis and it’s been my one and only daily driver since it was delivered at the end of June.

Not only do I love to drive, but I also love to personally maintain my cars! I put as much love & pride into washing my McLaren as I did when I had my very first car a 1993 Honda Prelude SR-V. It usually takes me about 2 hours to wash it properly, detailing every inch of it inside and out.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook or Twitter you will know exactly how I spent many summer nights washing & detailing my car by hand. There is nothing more therapeutical and rewarding than caring & properly maintaining the toys you buy in life, especially the big ticket reward items like my McLaren is to me.
Despite carefully washing the car with multiple buckets, new cloth every wash and dry cycle, the paint ends up getting a little beat up over time. As a result there were very fine swirl marks that showed up under close detail including some very light scuff/scratch marks. After all I am daily driving this downtown Toronto, Canada’s largest and busiest city!
After Jeff completed his initial detail of the car, he then proceeded to correct the paint by polishing the entire surface until it was glossy as glass!
The final step was for Jeff to apply 4 layers of Ceramic Pro’s 9H to lock in and seal the perfect glossy shine that he had achieved by polishing the paint!
